Hope for Heath Vanuatu was started in 2011 in response to local needs to support Ni Vanuatu
womens health and other projects relating to wellbeing and advancement of Ni Vanuatu

We fundraised, via the duck races, to buy the Colposcopes and Lettz machines used to detect and treat cervical pre-cancer changes to prevent cervical cancer developing. The ANZ bank being our major sponsor. It is a sister charity to ACCF (Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation). These two independent organisations work closely
together and fundraise together, to achieve our mutual goals. ACCF fundraises mainly in Australia and Hope for Health Vanuatu, in Vanuatu.

We continue to seek best outcomes for Ni Vanuatu health and wellbeing using latest sustainable health innovations.

Dr McAdam is also Vanuatu representative for ACCF (Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation)
She began working with ministry of health in 2007 and initiated the Cervical Cancer screening and vaccination program in Vanuatu and continues to work closely with Ministry of Health to support those programs. This work originally started under her own charity Australians Helping Abroad which merged with ACCF in 2014. Prof Ian Fraser is a major supporter of the program, ACCF and HFHV.

Dr McAdam has extensive experience in Womens Health and Preventive Health including using personal genetics to create personalised longevity health plans and continues to run a large Brisbane City Medical Practice with 13 Doctors and seeing 1000 patients per week, covering all aspects of medical care.
The practice also runs the “Staying Alive Program” aimed at high tech health screening to help detect and treat all cancers and heart disease early enough to prolong lifespans. It offers a fly in fly out service for expats living overseas who need to get all screening and specialist appointments done quickly and efficiently

While ANZ bank manager and previous chairman, Gail championed the cause by sponsoring the duck races and funding the first Nivanuatu cytologist. Martin McAdam- B Eng, B Bus (acct) Civil Engineer and accountant
Qualifications

Experience
Martin spent a number of years as an engineer designing, building and maintaining coastal infrastructure. From 1991, Martin was the Engineering Manager at the Ports Corporation of Queensland (PCQ), a port authority which owned major export facilities across 15 ports in Queensland. As Engineering Manager, Martin was involved in five separate expansions of Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal as well as a number of capital and maintenance dredging programs in the Ports of Weipa, Karumba, Mourilyan and Hay Point. In addition, he was responsible for numerous smaller projects across PCQ’s ports.
In 2003, Martin became Business Development Manager at PCQ with responsibility for major expansions of the Abbot Point Coal Terminal and other major projects at the Port of Hay Point.
From 2009, Martin was the Executive General Manager Major Projects which focussed on planning for multiple port export developments that were under consideration.

Laurie Dillon
Laurie has a Bachelor degree in International Relations and Business from Mount Allison University on east coast of Canada. She has 12 years experience in project management specifically in the telecommunications sector in a multitude of countries globally. For the last 7 years Laurie has been working in the telecommunications sector in Vanuatu specifically focused in areas of strategic logistics management, prepaid acquisition and development of retail channels.
